Where To Find Meaning
Today’s Bible Study June 7, 2012
“For everything there is a season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
To Find (look for):
What is the paradox of life Solomon describes (Ecc 9:11)?
Does Solomon believe generosity is profitable (Ecc 11:1)?
To Mind (key point): Solomon searches for meaning using the senses within the material universe and has trouble finding any! He concludes this life holds no special revelation apart from God!
To Bind (apply to our lives): Living well during our lifetime requires living a life with meaning. Solomon admonishes us not to live life, “longing for the good old days,” but rather to live today enjoying the blessings of the here and now. Solomon concluded chasing after the things of this world was meaningless. True meaning comes from knowing the Living God. From where in your life does your meaning come?
