The Power of Intercession

Today’s Scripture “The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a terrible sin, but I will go back up to the Lord on the mountain. Perhaps I will be able to obtain forgiveness for your sin” (Exodus 32:30).

Notes As Moses is seeking God face to face on the top of the mountain, the people fall into revelry, idolatry and immorality at the base of the mountain. After Aaron formed a golden image, the people worship it instead of the One True God.

God reveals much about His character today in the giving of His Name, Yahweh. He is a God of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and abiding in love, quick to forgive but does not excuse the guilty.
