The Power of Intercession

Today’s Scripture “The next day, Moses said to the people, “You have committed a terrible sin, but I will go back up to the Lord on the mountain. Perhaps I will be able to obtain forgiveness for your sin” (Exodus 32:30).

  As Moses is seeking God face to face on the top of the mountain, the people fall into revelry, idolatry, and immorality at the base of the mountain. After Aaron formed a golden image, the people worshiped it instead of the One True God.

  God reveals much about His character today in the giving of His Name, Yahweh. He is a God of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and abiding in love, quick to forgive but does not excuse the guilty.
