The Last Adam

Today’s Scripture “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters” (Genesis 1.1).

Welcome (back) to the online Bible study! I am thrilled to be studying with you this year and pray for blessing upon you as you seek God through Scripture in order to do His will.

Notes In the chapters of Genesis we find principles that will help us understand God, ourselves and our relationship with Him. As we study Scripture in this study, we will look to see Jesus in both the Old and New Testaments. Today, we see that Jesus Christ is the Last Adam. The first man, Adam, became a living being; the last Adam, Jesus, is a life-giving spirit (1 Co 15:45).

God desires to bless; however, our choices can prevent Him from doing so. What effect are you allowing sin to have on your life, and are you heeding God’s call to ‘subdue sin and be its master’ (Genesis 4:7)?
