Today’s Scripture

“My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground” (Isaiah 53:2).

The Lord’s Suffering Servant, portrayed in Isaiah 52-53, it a very well-known section of Scripture because of its importance and relevance to the centrality of the gospel. Its main message is that the suffering of the Messiah will lead to glory. Because of His actions, many will be saved.

Delight, church, in the beauty, mystery, sadness and majesty of the words we read today: He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins (Isaiah 53:5)… and because of his experience, he will make it possible for many (you and me) to be counted righteous, for he will bear all our sins (Isaiah 53:11). Wow, what a Savior!!
