The Hallel Collection

Today’s Scripture

“Everything God does reveals his glory and majesty” (Psalm 111:3).

Today’s reading includes a section of the Hallel, or hymns of praise, a collection of Psalms.

 Within Psalm 107, there are four pictures of the lost being found. How often in our own lives, or at least in the lives of others we know, do we find ourselves perilously close to purposelessness, depression, sickness or devastation. Yet, hear these words of comfort embedded in this Psalm that God wants to lead you out of that dark place, break those chains, provide healing and calm the stormy seas. Each of these pictures end the same: in the midst of it all, let the worshiper praise the Lord for the great things he has done (v 31-32).
