Today’s Bible Study September 19, 2012
“They asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had given for Israel to obey” (Nehemiah 8:1).
To Mind (key point): In today’s reading, Ezra makes a re-apparance and command performance as he reads the Law to the entire community of people – men, woman and children. What was so significant is that this was prescribed in the law to be done every seven years and had not been accomplished since the days of Joshua (Nehemiah 8:17)!
To Bind (apply to our lives): The Word of God has a tremendous impact on all those who hear, read and study it because it has the power to show us our sin, lead us into worship and bring us joy! What do you think would happen in your family life if you decided to pray or read Scripture as a family?
