He Who Is First

Today’s Scripture: December 9 “He (Jesus) is first in everything” (Colossians 1:18).
Paul, in his letter to the church at Colosse, gives seven clear and glorious descriptors of Jesus. He also uncovers more about this “mystery of Christ,” he so often refers to in his letters. The mystery of Christ that has been hidden in God is the church! The mystery isn’t that the Gentiles were to be saved (that was written about many times in the Old Testament), but that they would become of unfathomable riches along with Israel, God’s chosen nation!
You and me, as part of the church, because of Jesus, have a glorious and rich inheritance. Will you conduct your lives in such a way that lives up to that high calling?
