Hardships of Obedience

Today’s Scripture “Elijah said, “I am the only prophet of the Lord who is left, but Baal has 450 prophets” (1 Kings 18:22).

  At Mount Carmel, Elijah represented Yahweh and came up against Baal’s 450 prophets. When they could not invoke action from their (false) god after a 6-hour trial, Elijah called on Yahweh and he rained down fire on the altar burning up the coals and lapping up all the water.

  Walking with God has its peaks and valleys. Like Elijah, we must be willing to go through a dry brook, depleted oil and a dead boy to have the victories of a Mount Carmel.
