Grace Without Limits
Today’s Bible Study June 20, 2012
“Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord” (Jonah 1:3).
To Find (look for):
When do we see the prophet Jonah in Scripture for the first time (2 Kings 14:25)?
Where did God tell Jonah to go to preach repentance to the people (Jonah 1:1)?
To Mind (key point): Jonah was a prophet who ran from God. Because of the atrocities committed by the people to which he was sent, he did not want to see their redemption. The people from Nineveh were violent and brutal, and Jonah knew from the words God used that He would forgive them, if they repented of their ways. They did, and God did.
To Bind (apply to our lives): When God threatens punishment, he emphasizes grace. How can you show “grace without limits” to those who oppose you today?
