Doing Unto Others as Unto Yourself

“May the Lord value my life, even as I have valued yours”(1 Samuel 26:24).

To Find (look for):

  1. Did David want to kill Saul when he had the chance (1 Samuel 26:9-11)?

  2. Who was David relying on for help (1 Samuel 26:24)?

To Mind (key point): David spares Saul’s life yet again and does not desire to kill him even though Saul has been hunting him down for years. David finds safety in an unusual place – the land of the Philistines and lives among King Achish and his people for many years. The Philistines go to war with Israel, this time killing Israel’s first king, Saul.

To Bind (apply to our lives): God gave favor to David throughout his life and orchestrated circumstances for his good and the good of the nation of Israel. God honored David’s righteous actions as he trusted and put his faith in God and God’s timing. He abided by a true and steadfast Kingdom Principle that we will be treated in accordance with how we treat others. Can you say as David did, “May the Lord value my life, even as I have valued others?”
