Cultivating a Heart for God
Today’s Bible Study January 13, 2012
“These were the kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites“ (Genesis 36:31).
To Find (look for):
Do you find anything strange about the list of kings who ruled in Edom (Gen 36)?
To Mind (key point): We see from the list of kings in Edom that no a single one was succeeded by a son. This is in contrast to the perfection of God’s establishment through the kingly line of Judah in which every king comes from the royal house of David!
To Bind (apply to our lives): Secular, worldly greatness comes swifter than spiritual greatness. It takes time to mold character and change hearts. How much time do you spend cultivating a heart for God, that is, spending time on your “inner man?”
