A Voluntary Vow

Today’s Scripture “Anything specially set apart for the Lord (that God set aside for Himself) – whether a person, an animal or family property – must never be sold or bought back” (Leviticus 27:28).

  The type of vow we read about today was voluntary. It was given to God to express gratitude to Him. It is important to keep the vows we make to the Lord, and to keep sacred those things in our life that belong wholly to Him. Animal sacrifices were only acceptable if the animal was completely unblemished. Do you give him your “blemished lambs,” or the firstborn and most precious of all you have?
