To Find (look for):
How many Israelites lost their lives in the battle (Num 31:49)?
How did the captains and generals of the army respond to God (Num 31:50)?
To Mind (key point): Joshua was chosen to follow Moses as the leader of Israel. He had been one of the twelve spies, and the only one other than Caleb who encouraged the people to take the land because God was with them. Moses makes a prophetic statement that the sheep (Israelites) need a shepherd. Joshua was the right choice because of his faith in God and because he had the Holy Spirit in him (Num 27:18).
To Bind (apply to our lives): Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leads His people to safe places. We can trust Him today to lead us where we need to go.
