A Siege Befalls Jerusalem

Today’s Scripture

“Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged…. for there is a power far greater on our side!” (2 Chronicles 32:7).

One day to come Israel will live in the land promised to them. A time when their borders will be extended fully, Israel will be honored by the nations throughout the earth. Jesus will be their king. He will do miracles for them as he once did in the wilderness, and the Gentile nations will stand amazed (Micah 7:16).

 The Assyrian army besieged Jerusalem, but was defeated due to an instant, mighty act of help performed by their God. After they taunted, ‘trust comes from military might’, and ‘what God has ever defeated Assyria,’ God rose up to act. In a mighty way, He came to their deliverance. Do you trust that in his time, He will come deliver you?
