A Lion Lying Down

Today’s Scripture “The scepter will not depart from Judah” (Gen 49:10).

Notes The scepter is a sign of kingship, power and authority to rule. In the blessing for Judah we see a prophecy about One who descends from the tribe of Judah, who will come to take over the throne. This is Jesus depicted as He will be during the millennium, when He returns to take His rightful place as King of kings.

  Jacob was a man who desired God’s blessing. Joseph was a man who could see God’s blessing throughout his life – and gave Him the credit for it. Do you seek God’s blessing in your life, being careful to give credit for your success to Him to whom the credit is due?
