A Life Lacking Obedience
Today’s Bible Study August 21, 2012
“Everyone in the world will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 21:5).
To Mind (key point): Ezekiel clarifies for us a very important point threaded throughout the Old and New Testaments and that is that obedience, living a life consistent with the Word of God, leads to life (Ezekiel 20:13).
To Bind (apply to our lives): Today’s reading shows us that when we live in sin, God allows us to follow after those desires and in essence, turns us over to those pursuits. God tells us, “I gave them over to the worthless decrees and regulations that would not lead to life” (Ezekiel 20:25). In other words, they followed the pull of the culture and got ensnared and entangled in it. What do you see are “worthless decrees and regulations” in our culture that ensnares and entangles you?
