“Then Jehoiada brought out Joash, the kings’s son, placed the crown on his head and presented him with a coy of God’s laws” (2 Kings 11:12).
To Find (look for):
Who decided to overthrow Athaliah, the Queen, from Judah (2 Chronicles 23:1)?
How old was Joash when he became king (2 Kings 11:21)?
To Mind (key point): Athaliah was related by blood to Ahab. The daughter of this wicked king, she grew up with Jezebel and false gods and learned to lust for power. She kills all the royal family just to take the throne.
To Bind (apply to our lives): After six years, untested, Jehoiada leads an overthrow, which ends Athaliah’s reign and places Joash, a rightful heir, back on Judah’s throne.
